Street lights are an important public service, but they are expensive to maintain and collectively consume a significant amount of energy. Many U.S. cities are making the smart decision to take advantage of the cost savings offered by converting to LED street lighting technology.

Johnson Controls and the City are working together to achieve this vision to deliver smart lighting solutions to a smart city.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, only about 13 percent of outdoor lighting is currently LED. The City and County of Honolulu is once again leading by example and demonstrating its commitment to saving energy, reducing maintenance costs and providing quality and value to the citizens of Oahu.
